Over the last few weeks the group chats have been filled with yet another comet: C/2025 A6, also called Lemmon, is another bright comet. I tried to catch it on our star party a few days ago unfortunately the Dwarf3 had some issues with the correct position and I had a hard time taking a photo before the clouds rolled in. I was glad that tonight the weather forecast showed a small break in the clouds and I quickly asked a fellow astronomer who was also keen on getting a photo of the comet. We met up on a side road and waited for dusk to set in. The road was small but somehow frequently used so we switched to his garden where I was more lucky with my photo.
Over the last few weeks, our astronomy group chats have been filled with yet another visitor from the outer Solar System: Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon.
I had already tried to catch it during our star party a few days earlier, but my Dwarf 3 had some trouble finding the right position. By the time I finally got close, the clouds were already rolling in. Classic astrophotography timing.
Luckily, the forecast showed a small break in the clouds tonight. So I quickly asked a fellow astronomer, who was also keen to photograph the comet. We met up on a quiet side road to wait for dusk.
Well. “Quiet” was apparently more of a theoretical concept. For such a small road, it was surprisingly busy, so we eventually moved to his garden instead. And there I finally had better luck. Here is my photo of Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon, captured with the Dwarf 3 between clouds, traffic, and the usual tiny bit of cosmic chaos.
