Sketchbook Tour ’25

A small sketchbook tour through my Traveler’s Notebook from 2024–2025, filled with ballpoint pen sketches, object studies, quick observations and everyday drawing practice.

In 2024, I got myself a Traveler’s Notebook in passport size and it quickly became one of my favorite things to carry around. I didn’t plan to use it as a sketchbook at first, so most of these drawings were made with what I had with me: a simple ballpoint pen.

I sketched in waiting rooms, on the train, during breaks, or whenever I had a quiet moment. Most pages are filled with small object studies and quick observations, more for practice than perfection.

Over time, I noticed how much this little notebook helped me improve my shading and confidence with loose sketching. Ballpoint pen is unforgiving, but in a good way. No erasing, no endless fixing. Just draw and move on.

I also learned that sketching people live is a whole different beast. It’s hard for me to not feel pressure especially when they notice it.

So here’s a little sketchbook tour from 2024 to 2025: ballpoint pen sketches, everyday objects, drawing practice, and a tiny notebook that somehow became much more important than planned.
